AXILIEVA 5MG ( Axitinib Tablets 5 mg )

AXILIEVA contains Axitinib, an oral targeted anticancer agent. It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that selectively blocks vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, VEGFR-3), inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor growth.

Axitinib is used for:

1. Advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) – after failure of prior systemic therapy

2. Other solid tumors – in selected clinical trials or off-label use

Common side effects:

•  Hypertension

•  Fatigue

•  Diarrhea

•  Loss of appetite

•  Nausea and vomiting

•  Hand–foot syndrome

Serious side effects:

•  Severe bleeding

•  Gastrointestinal perforation (rare)

• Proteinuria

•  Liver function abnormalities

•  Cardiovascular events (rare)

•  Standard dose: 5 mg orally twice daily

•  Take with or without food

• Dose adjustment may be required in hepatic impairment or based on tolerability
