CAPELIEVA-DT 500 mg contains Capecitabine, an oral fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy drug. It is a prodrug that converts into 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) inside tumor cells, where it interferes with DNA synthesis and inhibits cancer cell growth.
The dispersible (DT) form is helpful for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets.
Capecitabine is indicated for the treatment of:
1. Breast cancer (metastatic or recurrent)
2. Colorectal cancer (adjuvant and metastatic)
3. Gastric (stomach) cancer
4. Esophageal cancer (combination therapy)
5. Pancreatic cancer (off-label, combination regimens)
Common side effects:
• Diarrhea
• Nausea, vomiting
• Fatigue
• Loss of appetite
• Mouth sores (stomatitis)
Skin-related:
• Hand–foot syndrome (redness, pain, peeling of palms/soles)
Hematological:
• Anemia
• Neutropenia
• Thrombocytopenia
Serious side effects:
• Severe diarrhea & dehydration
• Cardiotoxicity (rare)

Dosage is based on body surface area (BSA) and clinical condition.
Common regimen:
• 1250 mg/m² orally, twice daily
• For 14 days, followed by 7 days rest
• 21-day cycle
