LENALIEVA 5MG ( Lenalidomide Capsules 5mg )

LENALIEVA 5 mg contains Lenalidomide, an immunomodulatory and anticancer medicine (IMiD). It works by modulating the immune system, inhibiting tumor cell growth, reducing angiogenesis, and inducing cancer cell apoptosis. Lenalidomide is a thalidomide analogue with improved efficacy and safety.

Lenalidomide is used in the treatment of:

1.  Multiple Myeloma
     – In combination with dexamethasone or other agents

2.  Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)
     – With deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality
3.  Mantle Cell Lymphoma
     – Relapsed or refractory disease

4.  Follicular and Marginal Zone Lymphoma (in certain regimens)

Common side effects:

•   Myelosuppression (neutropenia, thrombocytopenia)

•   Fatigue, weakness

•   Diarrhea or constipation

•   Rash, itching

•   Muscle cramps

Serious side effects:

•   Thromboembolism (DVT/PE)

•   Severe infections

•   Secondary malignancies (rare)

•   Liver function abnormalities

•   Peripheral neuropathy (less common than thalidomide)

Thromboprophylaxis may be required and blood counts must be monitored regularly.

Dosage depends on indication, combination therapy, and renal function.

Common dosing (examples):

•   Multiple Myeloma: 25 mg once daily on Days 1–21 of a 28-day cycle

•   MDS (del 5q): 10 mg once daily continuously

5 mg strength is typically used for dose reduction or in patients with renal impairment.
