Paclitaxel Injection is used in the treatment of:
Breast cancer
Ovarian cancer
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma
Head and neck cancers (in combination therapy)
Common side effects:
Hair loss (alopecia)
Nausea and vomiting
Low blood counts (neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia)
Fatigue and weakness
Muscle and joint pain
Peripheral neuropathy (tingling, numbness)
Dosage depends on body surface area (BSA), type of cancer, and treatment protocol.
Common regimens:
175 mg/m² IV infusion over 3 hours every 3 weeks
135 mg/m² IV infusion over 24 hours every 3 weeks
Weekly regimen: 80–100 mg/m² IV
