Paclieva contains Paclitaxel, a chemotherapy (anticancer) medicine belonging to the taxane group. It works by stabilizing microtubules and inhibiting their breakdown, which prevents cancer cell division and leads to cell death.

Paclitaxel Injection is used in the treatment of:

1. Breast cancer

2. Ovarian cancer

3. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

4. Kaposi’s sarcoma (AIDS-related)

5. Head & neck cancers (in combination regimens)

Common side effects:

• Hair loss (alopecia)

• Nausea and vomiting

• Low blood counts (anemia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia)

• Fatigue, weakness

• Muscle and joint pain

• Peripheral neuropathy (tingling, numbness)

Dosage depends on body surface area (BSA), cancer type, and regimen.

Common dosing schedules:

• 175 mg/m² IV over 3 hours every 3 weeks

• 135 mg/m² IV over 24 hours every 3 weeks

• Weekly regimen: 80–100 mg/m² IV
