Paclieva 300 mg contains Paclitaxel, a chemotherapy (anticancer) drug belonging to the taxane class. It works by stabilizing microtubules and preventing their depolymerization, which inhibits mitosis and leads to death of rapidly dividing cancer cells.
Paclitaxel Injection is used in the treatment of:
Breast cancer
Ovarian cancer
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma
Head and neck cancers (in combination chemotherapy)
Common side effects:
Hair loss (alopecia)
Nausea, vomiting
Myelosuppression (neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia)
Fatigue and weakness
Muscle and joint pain
Peripheral neuropathy (tingling, numbness)
Dosage is based on body surface area (BSA), type of cancer, and treatment protocol.
Common regimens:
175 mg/m² IV infusion over 3 hours every 3 weeks
135 mg/m² IV infusion over 24 hours every 3 weeks
Weekly schedule: 80–100 mg/m² IV
