NAVELIEVA 50 mg contains Vinorelbine, a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid. It inhibits microtubule assembly by binding to tubulin, thereby arresting cell division in the M phase of the cell cycle. It is primarily used in lung and breast cancers.
Vinorelbine is indicated for:
1. Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)
– As monotherapy or in combination (e.g., with cisplatin)
2. Metastatic Breast Cancer
Common side effects:
• Myelosuppression (especially neutropenia)
• Nausea, vomiting
• Fatigue
• Constipation
Other side effects:
• Alopecia (mild)
• Injection site reactions
Serious side effects:
• Severe neutropenia → infections
• Peripheral neuropathy (less than other vinca alkaloids)
• Extravasation injury
Monitor CBC before each dose.
Dosage is based on body surface area (BSA).
Typical dosing:
• 25–30 mg/m² IV
• Administered once weekly
50 mg vial is commonly used for adult dosing.
